The sleazebags at Shock magazine and HFM can try and tapdance their way out of the unethical, immoral, and illegal predicament they themselves launched, but they won't get away with it.

You will recall that Michael Yon's copyrighted and well-known photo was used as the premier cover photo without his knowledge or consent. Outrageous enough based on copyright infringement, but it was done to dishonor our military and our country, on Memorial Day no less when we honor those who paid the ultimate price for freedom, and in a way that made it sound like Mr. Yon was working with them. Mr. Yon and his attorney are suing this perverted waste of good paper and its publisher, HFM.

We can help him by making sure this trashy mag doesn't get on the shelves.

BOYCOTT SHOCK MAGAZINE!

A list of publishers and the distributors are HERE. Contact them and let them know how you feel and that you will not be purchasing their products. A link to an appropriate sample letter is provided.
Let Mr. Yon know whom you have contacted.
Also contact the distributors who did the right thing and tell them thank you. Contact the media. Spread the word and post this notice in you blogs.

The magazine can’t succeed unless the publisher gets it on a lot of store shelves and it somehow stands out and apart from all the other covers vying for the consumers’ attentions.

Not with my photo, they won’t.

My attorney is contacting all of the companies listed as distributors for SCHOCK informing them of our intent to pursue anyone who has a part in this sleazy backhanded exploitation of a true American hero."—Michael Yon

Read his latest post, Dishonor.

He also has a list of well-known magazines by HFM. ELLE is on that list, which I will no longer buy.
